The Enhanced Cross-Platform Firefox Suggest project aims to bring Desktop's Firefox Suggest experience to mobile—including suggestions from the web, and sponsored suggestions. Enhanced Cross-Platform Suggest has gone through the mobile project intake process, and was accepted in May 2023. We've since completed Phase 1 (a cross-platform Application Services Rust component to download and store suggestions on-device), and are now ready for the Phase 2 integration.
This ticket covers landing an Android component for Firefox Suggest. The Android component will wrap the Application Services Rust component, and eventually be consumed in Fenix.
