User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/117.0

Steps to reproduce:

I went to https://mark-valentino.vercel.app/404 and scrolled halfway down the page.

I am using MacOS Montery on an M1 Max.

Actual results:

The background appeared to suddenly shift to the right.

Expected results:

The background should only move in the Y direction as I scroll.

Component: Untriaged → Graphics: WebRender
OS: Unspecified → macOS
Product: Firefox → Core
Hardware: Unspecified → ARM64

I can reproduce on macOS Sonoma. I'll see if I can reduce the testcase.

Severity: -- → S3
Attached file Reduced testcase

Steps to Reproduce with this reduced testcase:

  1. Resize the window to a portrait proportion (taller than it is wide).
  2. Scroll down about halfway.

Expected Results:
The gradient is unaffected.

Actual Results:
At some point during the scroll, the gradient is recalculated. This is wholly reversible by scrolling back up a few pixels.

Nical, would you please take a look?
