Bug 1358149 comment 55 indicates that sin() and cos() function evaluations are having a significant effect on the "Stereo Panning with Automation" performance benchmark, which uses a StereoPannerNode.

A performance improvement of 7-9% on amd64 Linux/WINNT and 17-18% on x86 WINNT is possible.
