Steps to reproduce:

try opening tabs in google with Firefox Multi-Account Containers enabled, you'll see that it behaves differently in firefox and waterfox

Actual results:

before it worked very well, but with the update, it doesn't work as it did in 2022, it's gotten worse because I can't open a link in a new tab, and now an annoying confirmation message appears, except that before I didn't have to confirm manually, but it was done automatically.

've already tried opening the program and changing the settings, but the problem was in firefox itself and not in the add on program. I want you to fix this in the future version, because I'm not going to update firefox anymore, without knowing what's going to happen!

and also the add on icon doesn't appear in the taskbar like it used to, and it's difficult to open the tab like it used to. because before I had the taskbar with the icon, and I didn't have this problem of opening it manually and asking manually. it was all automatic, simple and easy.

now it's hidden, laborious to open a tab from the same session, complicated and difficult.

Expected results:

it should continue to be a smarter browser like yandex!

I'm sorry, I think I'm managing to use it at least, but I can't open a new container tab without having any site open. it's manual and not automatic and the icon is visible as it was before, which was easier.
don't worry, it's just a little problem.

firefox is opening manually if i open a new tab, before it was automatic to open a new tab, in waterfox it is opening automatically and in firefox manually, even memorizing this decision. when i open a new tab and type something different, the same obstacle and problem occurs. before it wasn't like this, it was more automatic and easier.

Hello,

Firefox Multi-Account Containers works as intended. I did not see any issues with the extension while testing it out. Indeed, some changes have happened since 2022 in both the extension and Firefox.

For example:

• Firefox has implemented the “Extensions” button (the puzzle icon in the toolbar). All installed extensions go there now. So that’s where Multi-Account Containers will also be. The extension can be pinned to toolbar though if you so wish.
• new container tabs can be opened from either the extension dashboard or by clicking and holding the “+” button besides the tab bar, which will show a menu to select in which container the new tab should open
• links can be opened in containers via right clicking and selecting the container from the context menu option

Hope this helps.

Also I will be marking this report as an enhancement as there is no issue with either the extension nor the browser.

We definitely can do this. For the confirmation page, there's already bug reports on file on Multi-Account Container repository to add an option to bypass it.

There's a PR to fix the default icon location in the toolbar (See: https://github.com/mozilla/multi-account-containers/pull/2578). I think we can close this report as MOVED. If there are any other issue, they can be filed directly on Multi-Account Containers issue tracker.
