Details

  1. Compose a message
  2. Enable the Delivery Status Notification option
  3. Ctrl-Shift-Enter to put in Outbox
  4. File > Send Unsent Messages

When the message is transmitted from the Outbox via SMTP, Thunderbird does not request DSN during the SMTP protocol exchange as specified when queuing the message.

I can reproduce that, the "read receipt" request goes through, the "delivery status notification" request doesn't. However, it's a duplicate of bug 815638.

Woops, sorry about that. Searched before filing but didn't find that bug.
