Preconditions:
• must be logged in

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Go to https://www.youtube.com
  2. Access any video.
  3. Observe the buttons below the video.

Expected Behaviour:
The "Download" option is displayed on the page.

Actual Behaviour:
The "Download" option is missing from the page.

Notes:

  1. Screenshot provided
  2. Reproducible on Firefox Release as well
  3. Not reproducible on Chrome and Edge
  4. Issue found during WebCompat team [Top100] websites testing

Verified this issue and still reproduces on Firefox 122 and 124.

FWIW, the button is displayed for me in Firefox if I log in with a premium account (download is a premium feature).
When I log in with a regular account, the button is not displayed in Firefox, but shows up if I spoof the UA to Chrome's.
We can contact youtube to see if they can show the button for non premium accounts in Firefox.
