User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Android 13; Mobile; rv:109.0) Gecko/117.0 Firefox/117.0
Steps to reproduce:
Call a URL.
Actual results:
It is not apparent whether it has already been bookmarked.
It is necessary to open the menu.
Expected results:
Hence my suggestion that the bookmark status should already be displayed in / next to the address bar.

It would save time by eliminating the need to open the menu to check for a bookmark.

I seem to remember that in the desktop version of Firefox the bookmark star (yellow or white) can be found directly in or next to the toolbar, which gave me the idea for this request.

Hi Jeff,
I have noticed that extensive changes are currently being made to the "Bookmarks" component.
I'm not entirely sure if any of the bookmarks tickets already cover this feature request. Can you please have a look? Thank you

Unfortunately none of the existing tickets cover this request. The toolbar is quite small on some devices so adding more visual affordances can be difficult. Would it be possible to provide a scenario where you would want this available at all time?

As a user, you cannot see whether a current website has already been saved as a bookmark. The only way to check this is to open the menu each time. This scenario occurs for me basically every day and often several times. I find this procedure extremely cumbersome just to check a status.
I'm only interested in the status display. The fact that you have to open the menu to save, edit and delete is fine.
Would it be conceivable, for example, to color part of the URL or the button to the left of the address bar when a bookmark is present?

It's definitely possible. But we have to be very selective in what we do with the toolbar to not overload a user with too many visual queues with our constrained real estate. I could see this being possible with the larger screen sizes (Foldable phones, tablets) in the near future but less likely on the smaller scaled devices.
If this is an urgent need for you I wonder if this functionality could be exposed as an extension and put in the toolbar that way?

Today, I found a new option (for me) in the settings that perfectly fulfills my wish to see at a glance whether there is a bookmark for the current website without having to open the menu in a cumbersome and time-consuming manner.
Settings → Customize → Toolbar Layout: Expanded
