185371 - when i download an exe file mozilla appends .xml to the file

When i click on a link to an exe file for downlaoding the browser appends .xml
to the file and opens it with the application assosiated with xml files. if i
save the file and rename it to .exe it is usually the wrong file size..

For example i click on a link to foo.exe
Mozilla pops up with a download box that says downloading foo.exe.xml

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Click on a link to an exe file
2.watch the file extension change
3.

Actual Results:  
i recieved foo.exe.xml
and it was the wrong file size

Expected Results:  
i should have recieved foo.exe

if not :
Please test again with 1.3a and if you still see this add a sample URL for this.

in edit\prefere..\Navigator\helper applications I have :

Extension: xml
Mime Type : application/octet-stream
Aplication: C:\Program Files\vim\vim60\gvim.exe

it's no bug that you get this extension because the .exe are send as
application/octet-stream.

That you can't cahange it is bug 142102
