This is an enhancement.

I have all the e-mail I have ever interacted with saved on my hard disk (apart
from spam ;-)

In terms of audit trails it is useful to identify when an e-mail was sent or
received from someone however the attachment is often no longer required. As the
attachments can be MB in size this uses substantial disk space for little
advantage (especially for sent mail as I still have the original).

Would it be possible to allow a user to delete some or all of the attachments of
an e-mail without removing the mail message itself.

Allow a context menu item in both the mail summary list and the mail details
window which allows the deletion of the e-mail attachment.
