RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1852438

People

(Reporter: antoine.tran.11w, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/115.0

Steps to reproduce:

(A) Private Window

  1. Open Private Window
  2. Visit https://www.bennish.net/web-notifications.html and click Authorize
    (B) Normal Window

Actual results:

(A) The website says "Permission to display: denied". No notification permission asked by Firefox.
(B) The website trigger Firefox to ask me if notifications are authorized for this site.

Expected results:

(A) Firefox ask me if it authorizes or not notification, same like (B).

I can add that I have default settings regarding notification: Always ask. And I can reproduce this issue in other website.

I also tried setting permissions.isolateBy.privateBrowsing to false (source https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/jpu8gt/persist_website_notification_permissions_in/) but it did not change anything.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Private Browsing' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.
