Details

We should write a small blurb of the performance impact from using ReaderView in GeckoView. This should not block landing the code, because we need to do this either way, but we need to know what is it's impact and what we can learn from it. We are expecting positive results, so we should celebrate that too.

Things to measure:

  • Cold startup performance with and without the GeckoView patches.
  • Cold startup performance with and without the AC/Fenix patches.
  • ReaderView startup performance from cold start to instant readerview mode.
  • ReaderView performance from the cold start app to the first usage.
    • We have markers that can help us do these measurements and those are worth keeping those markers in the code base too.
