User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/118.0
Steps to reproduce:
After the Firefox update, Firefox has now issues in its Maximised window in Mac (using Macbook Air M2 Sonomo 14.0). It is difficult to close a tab via the 'x' button or switch tabs as top window automatically lowers down to show the Menu Bar. In previous versions, this happens only when pointer reaches the top of the tab. But in this current version, it lowers when reaching the top half of the tab's height.
Actual results:
When pointer reaches the top half of the Firefox tab, it will lower down to show the Menu Bar. This makes it very difficult to close the tab or switch tab.
Expected results:
In previous versions, pointer needs to reach the top edge of the tab before the hidden Menu bar is displayed.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Tabbed Browser' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Hello and thank you for the report! I tried reproducing the issue today on macOS 14 Sonoma M1 with Firefox 115.4esr, 118, 119, and 120.0a1 (2023-10-18), but the issue does not reproduce for me while in full-screen. The Menu bar is only displayed when the mouse is on the top edge of the browser. Attached a screen recording as well.
- Does this issue happen with a new profile? Here is a link on how to create one: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-remove-switch-firefox-profiles
- Does this issue happen with the latest nightly? Here is a link from where you can download it: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/desktop/
Thank you!
Please see the link for the screen I recorded showing the bug:

Not sure if coincidental, but this happened when I bought a new Dell monitor as second monitor for my Mac Air M2. When shutting down Firefox and restarting, the bug disappears. And then leave the mac for a few minutes where it goes to screensaver, and going back, the bug comes back.

Thank you for the screen recording! Unfortunately, I still can't reproduce even with two monitors attached to my macOS 14 m1 mini. A colleague will try on an M2 as well and leave a comment here.

Tried on a Macbook Pro 14" M2 Max and a second screen attached (did try with different resolutions for both internal and external displays) but was unable to reproduce the issue as well on Firefox 120 and Firefox 119.
