Reporter, can you reproduce this on Mozilla 1.3 beta or later?

Yes, I repeated the steps on 1.3 beta, and I got the same results.

For me this bug is new in mozilla 1.3b. (win 98SE) I youse mozilla as email-client for a long time, with email-accounts which use sssl and other which don't. Up to mozilla 1.3a there occured no problems, even using NAV. Only now with mozilla 1.3b after clicking 'Send unsent Emails' there is an Alert: Email-checking programm: Email-account found that uses ssl. See 'Help' for learning how to get Emails with ssl. After this Alert the hole mozilla-application is frozen.

confirmed on 1.3 Final on server that *does* support SSL. SMTP server is sendmail, and valid SSL Certificate is installed.

Discovered that having Norton Antivirus outbound SMTP scanning is enabled, Mozilla will hang since NAV doesn't appear to handle the TLS stream properly. Confirmed when using other mail clients with SSL as well. Disabling outbound scanning allows SSL based SMTP to function properly.

Build: 2003100804 Windows XP Reporter, have you tried a newer build. The above build that I use does not hang.

Using Mozilla 1.4 on Windows XP, it appears that this bug is fixed. Mozilla no longer hangs for me.

Reporter can you then mark this bug as invalid? Thanks
