Summary: popup blocker bypass → popup blocker bypass on firefox desktop
Version: unspecified → Firefox 119

Web standards do no define that as a "popup". If you click on something then one of the normal actions it can do is to open a new window. search engines and social media sites typically use this, for example, to open an interesting link without losing your place in your search or social feed in the original window.

An "unwanted popup" is defined as a window that tries to open on its own, not in response to a user action. As far as I can tell Chrome behaves exactly the same way on this site.

Marking wfm per comment #1 as it doesn't sound like we're doing anything unexpected here and our behaviour matches other browsers.
