(so that we can find a replacement allowing to validate).

I have heard that it is an old tag that is sort of the opposite of <NOBR>.  The
purpose being to tell the browser that that is a place where it can break if it
needs to.

IMHO we dont need <WBR> there at all, but that idea met opposition on #mozilla.

Any suggestions?

OK

I looked at the HTML code. The <wbr> occurs only after an hyphen like
"massively-<wbr>hyperlinked source"

It could be replaced with
"massively-&shy;hyperlinked source"

(&shy is the "soft hyphen")

&shy works in Opera... but not in Mozilla :-(

I would simply drop the <wbr>

Agreed. The worst that can happen is the justification is less than 100% optimal
on NS4, anyway. Blow 'em away.
