Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:120.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/120.0

Steps to reproduce:

  • install a extension with a right-click context menu
  • add it to the toolbar
  • verify it working by using right-click on it
  • restart firefox
  • right-click on the extension and the "Manage Extension" context menu only opens

Actual results:

when installing a extension with a right-click context menu it works without problems until firefox is restarted where only the "Manage Extension" context menu opens up

Expected results:

open the extensions context menu like in previous versions of firefox

Additional info, because there was no field for it in the open-issue template:
because this happens with a firefox restart, i have not been able to figure out how to use moz-regression to re-use a profile for testing (it always uses a new profile, regardless if i use --persist /tmp/test or --profile-persistence reuse (command mozregression --launch 120.0 --profile-persistence reuse))

i know this problem did not happen on firefox 118.0
if my other system still with firefox 119.0 is anything to go by, it also happens there

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Widget: Gtk' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Widget: Gtk
Product: Firefox → Core

for context, my testing extension is Gmail Notifier (Restartless)

i have uploaded a reproduction video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bx-1PHtkuW8
(note that this happens regardless if the addon is logged-in or not)

(i did not do a attachment because i got timed-out (504 or 502, cant remember) 2 times, trying to add a .mkv 3.1MB file)

nevermind, reverting to 118.0 it also happens there now, so it seems it is a issue with the extension

for reference, the issue is at https://github.com/inbasic/ignotifier/issues/620
