Steps to reproduce

  1. View a video in YouTube
  2. Select the icon to view fullscreen

Expected behavior

Video plays in fullscreen with sound and vision

Actual behavior

Video sound plays, vision is black screen

This post says full screen and landscape video worked fine "until a few days ago" (before the post's date 2023-11-24). That suggests this is a regression in Firefox 120 (release date: 2023-11-21).

I cannot reproduce this on Pixel 4a/6a. Does Fenix or YouTube's change cause this?

QA, is this bug reproducible on sites other than YouTube? Does this bug affect only some devices?

I wasn't able to reproduce this bug with YouTube in Firefox 120 or 122.0a1 on my Moto G5 or my Samsung Galaxy A32.

One user reports (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1432035) the blurry full screen problem is caused by YouTube "ambient mode" (enabled in YouTube dark mode). I enabled dark mode, but I still wasn't able to reproduce the problem.

Resolving as WORKSFORME because multiple users report this was a transitory YouTube issue that has resolved itself.

I could not reproduce this issue on the latest Nightly 122.0a1 from 12/08 and Firefox 120.1.0 on YouTube, twitch.tv, or bbc.com (videos).
Devices used : Motorola G9 plus (Android 11) and Google Pixel 7 Pro ( Android 14).
