We have realised that it is confusing to have the environment in the base section, as well as in the variants. This is especially complicated because the variants can expand on what we have in the base section.

I think we should only have the environment in the variants, as otherwise, the base environment would have to generally be a superset of all the variants, and that feels hard/unnecessary to specify.
