User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021212 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021212 This is a repeat/ confirmation of bug # 7672 reported on the Mac. The problem seems to be environment / machine specific because the same Mozilla version on other machines does not suffer from this problem. Bug is a complete failure to display more than one Browser window at a time. Open new window (right button) is ignored, Ctrl N is ignored, second invocation of executable is ignored. Upon exit of single Browser instance, Mozilla then fails to open ANY windows. Task manager shows Mozilla is still running. Killing that instance then permits opening jsut one a fresh browser window. The problem therefore is not just an inability to open multiple instances, but a failure to exit properly from the single instance. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open Browser 2.Ctrl N, or Right-click "open in new window", or double-left-click Mozilla icon 3. Actual Results: No new window appears. Expected Results: Open a new windwo Exit from the lone Mozilla instance leaves mozzila running according to the task manager. This instance must be killed before Mozilla can be re-invoked.

matti@mversen.de suggested "Please delete all files in profile/chrome and try it again." There is no profile/chrome on my system. The only ../profile is in defaults. Removing that does not cure the problem. But thanks for the suggestion to try deleting potentially guilty items. In the end I found that removing chrome\overlayinfo\communicator\content\overlays.rdf solves the problem - allows me to open multiple browser windows.

you MUST have a mozilla profile folder. (see the release notes for the path but you know that already since you read the release notes before you filed this bug). -> wfm

I restored ...\Mozilla\chrome\overlayinfo\communicator\content\overlays.rdf Problem returned. Then I deleted contents of C:\Documents and Settings\[user login]\Application Data \Mozilla\Profiles\default\[random string].slt\chrome namely chrome.rdf and a skypilot.jar (skin) file. Deleting the latter had no effect. But delete of chrome.rdf cures the problem (a new chrome.rdf created automatically). Looks to my (relatively uneducated) eye as if the references to the skypilot skin in the old chrome rdf were responsible. Thank you Matti
