I'm going to make the decision to close this as wontfix. The map is down now, and won't be available until December 1st. We have bug 1872755 on file to maybe add support for -webkit-fill-available directly, which would fix this issue.

Let's set a reminder to the beginning of September. If we haven't landed the alias by then, we can ship the intervention, but I don't think it's worth doing it now, given it'll just be idle for almost a year, and we have no ability to test that.

https://www.noradsanta.org/en/map is now live for this year, and the layout works just fine - they're showing a Google-Earth-style visualization which successfully fills most of the screen.
