Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021212
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021212

Mozilla would not handle the drop down menus or search entries at
www.seagate.com and thus I had to use IE. While using IE, I quit Mozilla
because it became unstable and started it up again to find that all of my
bookmarks (including the personal toolbar folder) had been deleted and replaced
with IE imported bookmarks. Mozilla started up with www.mozilla.org/start (or
similar) telling me that 1.3a was now available.

MOZILLA SHOULD NEVER OVER WRITE ITS OWN BOOKMARKS. ARGH. I HAVE TO RECOVER
THEM FROM A BACKUP NOW. MANY WEEKS OF BOOKMARKS LOST.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Mozilla -- especially an old version (1.2)
2. Start IE
3. Quit Mozilla
4. Restart Mozilla -- and have a new version now be available on the website???
Actual Results:
Well once it deleted all of my bookmarks and imported my IE favorites.

Expected Results:
It should now have deleted my bookmarks and imported my IE favorites.

www.seagate.com may also be involved.
Please keep in mind you are using an ALPHA version of Mozilla, and dataloss bugs
are present.
