User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130 If you do a "Save As..." to drive A: of an email attachment text file that is considerably larger than the capacity of a diskette, the save proceeds to apparent completion without any error messages. The result is a text file that fills the diskette to its capacity, but that represents only the first 1.44MB of the original file. The actual copying process takes an enormous amount of time that could exceed 10 minutes. There could also be another problem with "Save As..." of an email attachment to a diskette that is based on the same flawed software. If you do a "Save As..." of an email attachment of even a small file to a diskette and there is a write error during the process, the write error might go unreported by the Mail Client application. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Send an email to yourself with a text file attachment of 2.3MB in size. 2. After receiving the email, right click on the attachment and select "Save As...". 3. Select the destination as the drive A: diskette. 4. Note the very long copying time to write the file to a diskette. 5. Examine the file saved on the diskette. Note no error messages. Actual Results: You get a saved file on the diskette that represents only a part of the original file. Expected Results: Mozilla Email Client should warned the user that the original file being copied to a diskette is larger than the space remaining on the diskette, and cancel the request to copy.
Reporter, do you still see this problem with the latest nightly (or even Moz 1.7.3)? If not, this bug has probably been fixed and can be closed. Thanks.
I have Mozilla V1.7.2 and I just tested a diskette that had 1.36MB of data on it and I requested "Save As..." of a 202K file from an email attachment. It performed the save without any error messages. But, only 94K of the 202K file was saved to the diskette. Thus, this is still a valid reported bug and as the Reporter, I can NOT confirm that this bug has been fixed as of V1.7.2. DO NOT CLOSE THIS BUG REPORT! I am using Windows XP with all patches except Service Pack #2. I am running on a Sony RX850 P4 2.4MHz computer.
