User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021212 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021212 When entering a User ID or Password on URL pages requiring this information, the PC issues the "Default Sound" when the first character is typed. This does no harm because character appears, however sound makes you feel you have done something wrong Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Bring up URL requiring User ID or Password 2.Position curser to field and click left mouse button. 3.Type first character of UID or PWD with SOUND ON. Actual Results: Everything appears to work ok the sound is just annoying. Expected Results: NO SOUND "Compact Folders" from Mozilla 1.2.1 appears to be corrected.
WFM with build 20021230 on Win98. Does this happen only on the first keypress after you start the browser? That is bug 182451, which is fixed now.
reporter: does this work in current nightly builds? this bug sounds like a duplicate of bug 182451
