This is expected, and is necessary to both to implement part of Web Codecs and greatly improve performances when encoding video using the AV1 codec, that is going to be available when doing WebRTC calls in the future.
The media team is currently removing code at the same time as adding better code, so it's not all inflating.
Happy to discuss this in more details if needed, but I'm closing this.
