if you setup the middle mouse button as 'open in new tab' and then proceed to
middle click on over 20 different images from any given webpage, after about the
20th tabbed window mozilla does not redraw any part of the browser other than
the non-client area, ie. the menus, toolbars and the entire client area are not
redrawn.
Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1. setup the middle mouse button as 'open in new tab'
2. navigate to a website with 'thumbnail' images that when clicked, open the
full sized image
3. middle click 20+ images
Actual Results:
only the non-client area of the window was redrawn (ie. the border and title bar
is only redrawn)
also all of my bookmarks have subsequently disappeared...
Expected Results:
drawn the client area correctly
not lost my bookmarks

resource issues? Or is that not a problem on win2k?

This is probably bug 184933, "loading lots of images makes moz forget to repaint
everything". The symptoms and the "Reproducible: Sometimes" seem to match. (Do
you still see things draw if you hover over a chrome button with a hover
effect?) I didn't lose my bookmarks, though.
I usually have to view more than 20 non-thumbnail images to trigger bug 184933.
The difference might be because I usually use the "linked images" bookmarklet
instead of middle-clicking each thumbnail individually, because I'm using
Windows XP and you're using Windows 2000, or because your images are larger.

yup, if you move your mouse over said buttons, it redraws with its "hovered"
image. likewise, if you click in the client area where you think the tabs
should be, it redraws just the tab image.
