Preconditions:
Reach about:config and set the following prefs:
browser.shopping.experience2023.enabled, set to true (doubleclick)
browser.shopping.experience2023.optedIn, set to 1 (doubleclick, input ‘0’, hit enter)
browser.shopping.experience2023.autoOpen.enabled - true
browser.shopping.experience2023.autoOpen.userEnabled - true

Steps to reproduce

  1. Visit : https://www.amazon.com/XUEGW-Computer-Assembly-Required-Foldable/dp/B0CDS1238W/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?keywords=desk&qid=1706529514&sr=8-2-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&th=1
  2. Close the Review Checker from the X Close button.
  3. Reload the page.
  4. Repeat 4 more times (so, close the sidebar 5 times in all)
  5. When the sidebar is shown the 6th time, the "Keep Closed?" message bar is shown at the top of the sidebar.
  6. Click the settings toggle to disable auto-open
  7. Without reloading the page, click the shopping icon in the urlbar to reopen the sidebar.

Note that the bug does not occur if the user navigates to another page, or reloads the current page, and then reopens the sidebar.

Expected result

  • The "keep closed" message bar should not be shown

Actual result

  • The "keep closed" message bar is still visible.

Pending feedback from product, this seems like a low value edge case to me.

Please note that on step 8 the user has to Enable the auto Open option again in order for the message to be displayed.
Please also note that if we turn it off completely and we opt in again the message will be displayed again after the Onboarding message.
