If you make a Command-Click on a download link (.sit, .gz, etc) a new empty Window/Tab will be opened and the download will be added to the Downloads window. Do not open a new Window/Tab when it's a download link. Build 0101.

I'm not really sure this is a dup of Bug 155132 as that originally only was about mailto: links. But the latest patch on that also tries to fix the other cases.
The "safer" way to go seems to be that if we can tell a "blank" tab is created and spawns a download, close that tab immediately after the download manager takes over...that seems to be the approach Fx is planning on taking.

Bug 241972 (the fx version) landed on the trunk and is intended to land on 1.8.1; not sure if they added any shared code that would be useful for us.
We got the "close tab" behavior (and its bugs) automatically via bug 241972, so we can either close this, or leave it open in hopes of some day preventing the opening of the tab altogether :P

Once again, this is a Camino bug, not a Firefox bug.
