I've reported a similar problem some time back and the resulting patch fixed
most problems I had. At that time I had the suspicion that it had something to
do with messages which non non-ASCII encodings but I couldn't really verify this
because, to continue working, I deleted the messages by hand.
Now I stumbled accross a new message which I'll attach to this bug. Viewing it
works. But as soon as you try to delete it no operation on the folder works.
The folder in question is an IMAP folder and deleted mail is stored in Trash.
After I try to delete the message I cannot even view any other message in that
folder. Switching to a local folder and viewing messages there works.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Add the mail I'll append to your inbox which is handled via IMAP
2.start moz and read the mail
3.delete the mail
Actual Results:
No more operation on the folder possible. The mail is not deleted; the next
time moz is started it's still there.
Expected Results:
Mail is deleted.
I mark this bug a critical since as it stands it is a remotely triggered denial
of service attack.

Add this mail to your IMAP folder. Please use the right format. You need an
empty line to separate it from previous and following messages. Then restart
moz and try to delete the message.

It's probably not clear: this is with the moz trunk build from 2003-1-2. It
should be more or less the current tree. I haven't seen any noteworthy changes
since then.

I followed the steps described, using the sample email message provided, but could not reproduce the results with a newer version of TB.
First I attached the email to the mailbox by manually editing the folder on the server side. It appeared fine within Thunderbird via IMAP server (dovecot). I was able to delete and move the mail. The folders still worked, i.e. afterwards I was able to view/delete messages in the Inbox and Trash folders.
Client: TB 2.0.0.14 / Mac OS X 10.4.11
