188014 - Very slow download rate with bigger files

Upon trying to download files that are 15MB or higher I have noticed that it
takes  unreasonably long for Mozilla to download these files.  For example: The
demo version of Return to Castle Wolfenstein for Mac OS X is a 106MB file.  On a
cable modem it was estimated to take over an hour but took 30 - 45 minutes. 
Downloaded from exactly the same site with Internet Explorer it took 10 minutes.
 Have noticed this on more than one occasion.  Smaller downloads seem to be fine.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Download a big file, like a game demo in Mozilla
2.Download the same file in Internet Explorer
3.Using Mac OS X 10.2.2 and 10.2.3 IE version 5.2.2

Actual Results:  
It takes 1 and 1/2 to 3 or more time to download a file in Mozilla than it does
in Internet Explorer

Expected Results:  
Been similar or relatively close.

I have begun using Mozilla more and more each time on Mac OS X instead of
Internet Explorer.  The download time and download manager are two things that I
go to IE to use.  Keep up the good work though.

WorksForMe using FizzillaMach/2003022003. EricH, can you still reproduce this
problem using a current nightly build? If so, can you reproduce this problem
using another Mozilla user profile?

I'm having this problem as well, using Mozilla 1.5 on Windows 2000.

For example, I try to download this 182MB file:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/d/5/d/d5dd3f5e-9d8e-4f6f-914d-98e2fb34629d/dx90updatesdk.exe

With Mozilla, I get <10kB/s.  With Internet Explorer, I get almost 10MB/s (from
the University of Washington campus)  That's 1000x faster!  This seems very bizarre.
