(Hi I'm new here and hoping I'm doing this correctly, and not mistaking for a bug on my side... Sorry in taht case)
I cloned Bug 1841862 which is marked as solved because it seams the same issue is happening again
Amazon.com has setup their search plugin XML file incorrectly and as a result, attempting to add Amazon.com as a search engine to Firefox fails
Steps to reproduce
In Firefox 122.0.1 64bits
- Browse to https://www.amazon.com/ or any other, I tried .fr, .de, .es
- Click the URL bar
- In the bottom of the drop down where it says "This time search with" click the magnifying glass with the green plus box 'Add Search Engine "Amazon Search Suggestions"'
Expected results
To have Amazon added as a search provider to Firefox
Actual results
A Firefox error message pops up saying
Firefox could not download the search plugin from: http://d2lo25i6d3q8zm.cloudfront.net/browser-plugins/AmazonSearchSuggestionsOSD.DPFF.xml
Suggested Resolution
If this URL ( http://d2lo25i6d3q8zm.cloudfront.net/browser-plugins/AmazonSearchSuggestionsOSD.DPFF.xml ) is discovered from metadata on Amazon, then we should contact our Amazon search partner contact and let them know that this file is misconfigured and CloudFront is serving an "AccessDenied"
If this URL is hard coded into Firefox, then we need to contact Amazon and find out what the correct URL is that we should replace it with.

This is an issue on Amazon's server. For some reason they are blocking access to that file even though they are advertising it. We have tried contacting them multiple times via different routes and they have not resolved it. The best I can offer is that you contact Amazon as well and ask them to fix it.
I'll mark this as a duplicate of bug 1841862 and add a similar note there as well.
