Nothing very obvious stands out in the profile. There's some jemalloc/growElements slowness, some time in fdlibm_sin, but also a lot of Ion JIT code.

Comparing SM to V8, we spend 31% of our time in vect_r_mul and another 15% in vect_add, whereas V8 spends 46% of the time in potential (which calls both of those functions). It's possible that this is related to inlining decisions somehow.
