I assume the goal here is just to update the screenshots?

Hello, just an update that mobile has no timeline yet. I'll remove that from the description above and open a new ticket once mobile is ready. TY

Please can someone explain the expected changes? Comment 0 doesn't detail what changes on the pages are actually expected.

We don't expect to list exactly where we're deploying to as we don't currently, and that would be a long, complicated list. Given that Ecosia/Qwant aren't delivered everywhere, what would be the update here?

Thanks for reaching out. As we entered a deal with both search engine providers Qwant and Ecosia it would be great to mention them on some touchpoints.

I see an opportunity to make updates to this article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/change-your-default-search-settings-firefox.

  • Update screenshots mentioning the two partners in respective markets (see bug description), i.e.
    - screenshots of settings
    - secondary search bar in awesome bar

Suggestion (nice to have, not a must have)

  • add an explainer for each secondary search partner that comes pre-installed in the awesome bar

This would probably be difficult and not worth the work. We have 40+ search engines that are deployed according to various locale/region combinations. If we did do this, then any text would need to be discussed with BD.

As a reminder go live is on Tuesday. Was there on the decision on what changes needed to happen on the articles mentioned in #c1?

I'm working on a draft for an updated SUMO article that includes this change. I'll post it here by EOD.

Below are the initial drafts aimed at incorporating this update and refreshing the remaining content. Could you review the comments and assist in determining if everything required is included?

Those Qwant and Ecosia sections are unnecessary.

We are adding Qwant and Ecosia as built in options to Firefox in certain regions (and they already exist in some).

So there is no reason to explain to a user how to add them manually.

Sorry for the confusion.

Appreciate you checking this, Mike! I will remove the sections dedicated to Qwant and Ecosia and concentrate on renewing the general screenshots. Regarding the need for updated screenshots that include Qwant and Ecosia as default options, could you support me in acquiring those?

You can change the browser.search.region value in about:config to another region and see what it looks like.
