Though Mozilla contains code to display JNG and MNG images, Chimera/2003010706
fails to display these images.

Both URLs work fine using FizzillaMach/2002122907,

No, Moz handles JNG/MNG natively, so this is not a plug-in problem. For some
reason, Chimera has just never had this support turned on.
Is libmng deliberately omitted from Camino?
I think we have a bug about saying that we support mng in our Accept header too.
Yeah, bug 188376. While that bug is right, I hope the MNG/JNG support can simply
be re-activated. They're good, promising formats for the future.

Will we just get it back automatically when you hook up with the trunk?
This was not fixed by the merge with the trunk. Camino still does not display
JNG and MNG media.

In fact, trying to display a JNG URL continuously spawns blank windows using
Camino/2003032408.

We need to decide if MNG support is worth the extra bloat.
This URL:

causes Mozilla 1.4a (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US; rv:1.4a)
Gecko/20030331) to crash for me.  I've submitted at least one Talkback report
with the crash.

Is this bug irrelevant since MNG support is now removed from the trunk with Bug 195280?

Can this be added to Camino without it being on the trunk?
Yeah, this bug is now invalid.  (Note: it would be possible to drop in MNG
support as in comment 86 of bug 195280, though not with an XPI).

Re: comment #8 and comment #9: see bug #196670 (JNG crashes due
to Microsoft compiler bug).  Patch has been r'ed and sr'ed and is
awaiting approval.  Adding dependency of this bug on 196670.
