Steps to reproduce:

Delivered an upgrade from 115.7.0 ESR to 115.8.0 with Intune, whilst Firefox was open.

Actual results:

Repeated WERFAULT.exe popups. Happened on 2 machines.

Expected results:

The upgrade from 115.6 to .7 was brilliant as, I think for the first time, it detected an upgrade happening in the background and advised a restart. Prior to that, background upgrades resulted in bizarre instability. I would have expected the upgrade to .8 to be as good.

Hello! I have tried to reproduce the issue with firefox 155.7.0 upgrading to 115.8.0 on Ubuntu 22.04 and Windows 10, unfortunately I wasn't able to reproduce the issue on my end.
Could you please answer the following questions in order to further investigate this issue:

  2. Does this issue happen in the latest nightly? Here is a link from where you can download it: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/desktop/
