RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 144027

People

(Reporter: mgrabenstein, Assigned: asa)

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.22; Mac_PowerPC)
Build Identifier: 1.3a

Copied Mozilla 1.3a to my hard drive and tried to run it... It shows the splash screen and
then says "Creating first page" and everything goes silent and the splash screen with that
message just stays there.
This also happened with 1.2.1
But not with 1.2 beta.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Copy files to HD
2. Double click mozilla
3.

Actual Results:
Splash screen hangs with the message "Creating first page"

Expected Results:
Gone past the splash screen to the first page.

I have gotten this to happen under Mac OS X 10.2.2 and 10.2.3. Currently I am at 10.2.3.
I am running an iMac DV with 320 M RAM and about 1.7 gig available...
I have posted this to the mac mail list and have not heard anything back...
Mozilla 1.2b will run fine under my 10.2.3, albeit slowly.
Embedding:Mac is not for bugs with the mozilla browser, but embedding apps like
PPEmbed.

Anyway, have you tried setting aside your "Mozilla" folder in ~/Library? Moving
it out of ~/Library or renaming it will cause it not to be seen. Then, see what
happens.

You are probably using an outdated theme, delete the file chrome.rdf inside the
chrome folder in your profile.
