Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:123.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/123.0

Steps to reproduce:

When I'm in a Google Meet meeting (meet.google.com) and either the FF window or the tab goes into background, occasionally when coming back to the tab the incoming videos freeze. Sound still works. Afterwards when the tab stays in focus, usually the videos resume after a few minutes.

Don't know if it matters but typically I'm in a meeting with 5+ people and one person shares a screen, so there is one huge video.

Firefox 123.0.1 on macOS Sonoma 14.4

Actual results:

Videos freeze when coming back to the tab.

Expected results:

Videos should not freeze when coming back to the tab.

Either Google has changed something on their side or this was (unknowingly) fixed in version 124.0.x?
I didn't have this issue in the last few days. I'll keep an eye on it.

Too soon, it just occurred again with Firefox 124.0.2.
