UI spec: http://www.mozilla.org/mailnews/specs/views/#Search Spec calls for (not sure if this is a future/wish list item) a button in advanced search to save searches as a message view. This bug is to track that implementation.

The Search dialog now has "Save as Search Folder" which saves both the criteria and the folder set. Saving as a MailView would save only the criteria. I'm not sure if this is still a useful idea or not. Working on the assumption that the old specs are virtually abandoned, changing this to an RFE.

- Does the notion of MailView still exist? (If not, resolve INVALID or WONTFIX). - Is this SeaMonkey-only or Thunderbird too? (IOW, shouldn't it be in Core?) - Anyone still interested in seeing this fixed? - Anyone willing to try and fix it?

(In reply to comment #5) > - Does the notion of MailView still exist? Yes, that's the View dropdown box (TB users need to explicitly drag it into the toolbar). > - Is this SeaMonkey-only or Thunderbird too? (IOW, shouldn't it be in Core?) Both. > - Anyone still interested in seeing this fixed? Of course.

If I supposed wrong (i.e., moved it to a wrong component, or there should be two bugs, this one in SeaMonkey and another one in Thunderbird) then please correct me.
