User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1) Build Identifier: Don't know thing won't run (1.3a dloaded today) Hi, I searched bugzilla as I was having problems with Mozilla hanging @ startup on the splash screen. One of the comments was to rename and zip this file for checking. I did what was recommended. I renamed compreg.dat. Then renamed this xul.mfl file and Mozilla started normally. This problem began after I updated to 1.2a (the one that fixed the DHTML OOPS). Well, wait a minute, I just closed and restarted Mozilla and same as before NO GO. Whatever this file is doing it recreates itself after one use. System P4 2.4 Windows XP Pro Hope this helps Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Start Mozilla (or try to) 2. 3. Actual Results: Hangs at splash screen. Expected Results: Started
You are probably using an outdated theme, delete the file chrome.rdf inside the chrome folder in your profile. Then may be dupe of bug 144027.
Deleting the chrome.rdf worked. Does this mean that deleting the other files (xul.mlf and compreg.dat) is unnecessary?
deleting compreg.dat is unnecessary as bug 171441 if fixed. Deleting XUL.mfl sometimes help as it can get corrupted: bug 169777. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 144027 ***
