We've received a report in https://github.com/webcompat/web-bugs/issues/133994 where the button to copy video url is shifted to the right.
The issue is reproducible on MacOS, but not on Windows. I haven't checked Linux.
To reproduce:
- Open any video on youtube, for example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-9S5fu9Hj4
- Click on "Share" button underneath the video and observe the opened interface
Expected:
Copy button is within the input boundary
Actual:
Copy button is shifted to the right and a bit cut off

I've attached a slightly reduced test case.
Hi Emilio, wonder if you could take a look at this, please?

This was a specification change (https://github.com/whatwg/html/issues/9976) which is likely to make it to other browsers. I think contacting youtube first would be helpful, to add that min-width: 0 declaration, which is what they gained with overflow: hidden. Would that be feasible?

Thanks for looking into this, I've sent them an email.

Given comment 2 & comment 4, let's reclassify this as a WebCompat site report rather than a layout bug, since the Gecko behavior is intended/expected, and the proposed fix at this point is a site fix (or worst-case, we could ship an intervention if we needed to).

This was reported on the YouTube discuss list and we received confirmation from the team that they're working on a fix on their end.
