Environment:
Operating system: OnePlus 6 A6000 (Android 11)
Firefox version: Nightly 125.0a1-20240317231404
Steps to reproduce:
- Go to https://www.baidu.com
- Search for something (e.g. test)
- Observe the videos below the search bar.
Expected Behaviour:
The video plays automatically.
Actual Behaviour:
The video does not autoplay, it can be watched only by accessing the video page.
Notes:
- Screen rec attached
- Reproducible on Firefox Release as well
- Reproducible regardless of the ETP status
- The default is to block the audio but even if audio/video is allowed in the browser settings the outcome is the same
- Not reproducible on Chrome
- Issue found during WebCompat team [Top100] websites testing
