Steps to reproduce:

Select a search engine in settings, other than google (tried Bing, DuckDuckGo).
While browsing highlight any text by long-press. A context menu appears.
Select "Web search"

Actual results:

Selected text opens in google search

Expected results:

Selected text opens in chosen search engine

This been around for a while, not a very new regression.

Is "Web search" the exact text you've seen in the popup context menu?

If so , that might be provided by third-party application. Because Firefox Android's search in pop context menu would only be "Search" or "Private Search" (in private mode).

Yes, it is "web search". I will tey to find what could have done that. I use lineage with microg instead of google services.

Any idea how to find what added the "web search" entry. And why did it remove the original one? Its scary, i didnt think i had anything of that sort installed. Could it be the microg itself doing it?

Ok, i found it. It was a little app called "select text to search".
