Nick and I agreed we should write a brief "this is how we plan to replace the old Legacy Telemetry Event APIs" explainer. About a page in length, this should lay out the steps we intend to take to

  • Document and Communicate the change
  • Migrate existing uses (including all those tests we ourselves wrote)
  • Augment GIFFT to map value parameters where necessary
  • And every other thing we're planning to get away from Services.telemetry.recordEvent

One pager written and reviewed. Email drafted and partially reviewed.
