We've decided to change some of the concept for search-config-v2 to avoid duplication and to simplify how variants are applied within the configuration. This bug is for updating the current search-config-v2 to incorporate those changes.
In theory, there should be no effect on the current nightly builds, as we're not changing any of the currently in use variants.

The changes here are now on stage-preview. They affect Google, DuckDuckGo and Bing. The changes are intended only to fix ESR, so that we can do some final testing there, however it may be worth some quick spot-checks on nightly.
Note that searchengine-devtools will break with this update, we have a new version in the review process.

We'll do some testing on stage-preview first thing on Monday. Thanks for FYI.

Smoke completed on Nightly 126.0a1 (2024-04-14)/127.0a1 (2024-04-15) with regions locales covered from list. We will continue with stage/126b tomorrow, since we shall start beta testing for search-config anyways.
Other than the fact that the icons for engines were missing (assuming that the RS stage didn't have them), no issues found.
