renaming this bug to consider more than just google mail and grouping together all the login sites I recently had issues with.
There was also:
- twitter: 2FA code is never emailed despite several attempts)
- office: manual login recording didnt help in replay, and automated login keeps cycling the login screen despite credentials being entered correctly. one of those "keep me signed in" prompts appear and despite either manually clicking that or using the XPaths, it still doesn't help
note: there is technically overlap with fb-nav which also required a login

making a note here for future reference: for some log-in sites (like twitter) there isn't that much of a difference of being logged in vs not logged in for strictly pageload (but would be different for interactive). These days some X/twitter pages block you with a login screen, but not all (i think verified/popular pages are not blocked by the login prompt?)
For such sites it may make sense to not log into it anymore
