User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:125.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/125.0
Steps to reproduce:
At some point since 12 April 2024, my Yubikey 5 NFC quit working with Firefox. I am running Ubuntu 22.04 with Firefox installed as a Snap package.
To reproduce:
- Visit https://demo.yubico.com/webauthn-technical/registration (or any other site that support 2fa login with hardware security keys) with Firefox v125. I think v124 is also affected.
- Click "Next", and observe the popup saying, "Touch your security key...".
- Touch the security key, and observe that nothing happens.
Actual results:
Nothing happens in Firefox, and the light on the security key doesn't blink (that's the "touch me" indication).
I know the problem is specific to Firefox because I get the expected behavior with Chromium (Snap install) and using the Yubico Authenticator desktop application.
Expected results:
When I touch the security key, the popup should close, and I should be advanced to a new screen.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::DOM: Web Authentication' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Does this occur with non-Snap installations of Firefox?

as I commented on https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1892628 I can confirm that this problem also occurs for me with Firefox 124 (also Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS, snap install)
