Firefox uses a lot of RAM even for less number of tabs opened. Earlier it wasn't like this and I have been using firefox since 6-7 years. Please look into the issue, there are always multiple FirefoxCP Isolated Web Content that takes up the entire RAM on my macbook pro.

:divya.r.shah, could you make sure the following information is on this bug?
For slowness or high CPU usage, capture a profile with http://profiler.firefox.com/, upload it and share the link here.
For memory usage issues, capture a memory dump from about:memory and attach it to this bug.
Troubleshooting information: Go to about:support, click "Copy raw data to clipboard", paste it into a file, save it, and attach the file here.
Thank you.

Just to add one thing, right now not many tabs are open in firefox. Typically I have around 35-45 tabs open but I have been keeping that number down since I saw the memory usage of it. I just want firefox to use less memory because even right now like 13/16gb RAM is used and the only open application I have are whatsapp, firefox, terminal and notes application.

Hi there! Could you try running Firefox in "Troubleshooting Mode" so that we can eliminate the possibility of add-ons being the issue? Some details on how to use it are here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/diagnose-firefox-issues-using-troubleshoot-mode
