Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030113 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030113 Mozilla is great. One of the great features is the ability to easily accept third-party add-ons, such as MozTweak and Preference Toolbar, thus enabling one to customize Mozilla to fit individual needs. One problem is the fact that whenever a new version of Mozilla is released these add-ons have to be reinstalled. There needs to be a way to easily transfer these add-ons whenever a new version of Mozilla is loaded, so they don't have to be reinstalled each time. I would personally be more willing to test new builds of Mozilla on a regular basis if I new I could easily transfer these customizations each time. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

Hi Jim. You might be aware of this now, but most extensions allow you to install them to your profile rather than the Mozilla folder, so that they will exist after upgrading to a new version. If a particular extension you like doesn't have that feature, you'll have to contact the author and ask him/her to add support for it. See bug 125610 and bug 162960 for details if you're interested. Thanks. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 125610 ***
