User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.0.2) Gecko/20021216 There is a problem with marking part of the URL in the address bar(URL bar). If i have a URL with "http://www.mozilla.org" and i want to mark "mozilla.org" with the mouse it doesn't work as it should, instead it wants to mark the whole URL "http://www.mozilla.org" It's a very annoying problem when.... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Hold down the left mouse button and mark the part of the URL in address bar you want to mark. 2.The result becomes that it marks the whole URL instead of just the part you wants it to mark. 3. Actual Results: It marked the whole URL(text) instead of the part i wanted to mark at first. Expected Results: What i wanted is that you could mark part of the URL(text) with mouse instead of the result being the whole text in the address bar.b To mark the part of the URL you want to remove you have to click twice and the drag the mouseover the part you want to remove. That is not the standard way of doing things.

Bug 87410 is not about the whole URL getting selected on mousedown. That is bug 62495. This is fixed and I no longer observe this sort of behaviour on Win98, build ID 2003011508.
Agreed. This is not a duplicate of bug 87410. Furthermore, even if using user_pref("browser.urlbar.clickSelectsAll", true); the entire URL is only selected if if you release the mouse button. To do what this bug wants (and which is already WFM with 2003011708 / XP) click on the "m" in "mozilla", do NOT release the mouse button, and drag to the "g" in "org". Now just "mozilla.org" is highlighted.
