User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030118 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030118 When using the latest build (20030118), *occasionally* large images displayed in web pages are corrupted. Pressing CTRL F5 will sometimes fix the problem, or other times, when the image is initially correct, a CTRL F5 will give back a corrupt image. The same happens for files. Some of the time, a ZIP file will fail its CRC. I have not seen this before on mozilla, so i dont think its a change my end. It might be related to bug 176919. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Find any page with a large image on (1280x1024+ i would suggest) 2. View that image 3. If it is not corrupt, hit CTRL F5 1. Download a large zip file 2. See if it fails CRC Actual Results: Sometimes, much more than normally, the images and zip files are corrupt. Expected Results: The images and zip files should not be corrupt Have not seen this before, i do a lot of image work, and i have maybe seen this once in 6 months, now its happening much more often, maybe 2-3 times a day.
Attached image Example Corruption
From deskmod.com, although more sites will do it too, such as http://www.ojuice.net/pics/piclib.htm?OJ_PICLIB_REPpg=4, especially with a CTRL F5 on any of the zoomed in pictures, from that page.
I should also add, i cannot reproduce this under IE6, just to rule out any routee/proxy config probs here. You may have to CTRL F5 5 or 6 times to make it show up, rather than waiting for it to occur randomly
isn't that a regression by bug 73322 ? I'm seeing image-corruption too on http://www.belgium.be/ with a 20030119 build on MacOS 9.2.2 I had to go back to an earlier build (20030116) to view this website.
very occasionally you might notice it happen on HTML too, a page will be rendered incorrectly, or text is slightly corrupted, and requires a from server refresh to make it work. It just seems to be random small errors in any networking data that mozilla recieves. I am aware occasionally pages do not render correctly for whatever reason, but this is a lot more common than it normally is since builds dated 16th, and combined with the image problems, suggests the idea of very occasional data corruption might be valid.
Might be related to bug 189689.
