Preconditions
- None
Steps to reproduce
- Do a clean install of Firefox.
- Open about:preferences and check the option “Open Firefox automatically when your computer starts up”.
- Open Windows start-up and click to off next to Firefox.
- Reinstall Firefox.
- Open about:preferences and verify the option “Open Firefox automatically when your computer starts up”.
Expected result
- Option “Open Firefox automatically when your computer starts up” should be unchecked but not grayed out .
Actual result
- Option “Open Firefox automatically when your computer starts up” is unchecked and grayed out, also if opening the start-up from windows Firefox is not displayed in the list and the user can not enable it.
Regression range
- Will look for one.
Additional notes
- This seems to reproduce with 126.0 also, so not a recent bug, but still annoying for users.
- QA can add a Firefox shortcut on the start-up folder to add it in the Windows start-up list, but normal user don't know this.
- Reproduce this on a Win10/Win11 machine with a regular build not msix.
